In the lead-up to the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Samsung Electronics has announced a Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition created specifically for participating athletes. Nearly 3,800 competitors from approximately 90 countries will receive the device, which is intended to support their daily routines, communication, and content sharing during the Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will bring a new twist to medal celebrations with the introduction of the “Victory Selfie.” Debuting at the Winter Games and expanding to team sports for the first time, the initiative lets athletes capture their winning moments themselves. Some competitors will also join the “Victory Profile,” a fresh photo series taken with the Galaxy S25 Ultra that showcases who they are beyond the podium.
“Athletes are at the heart of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and for nearly 30 years, Samsung has supported them as a Worldwide Partner through meaningful mobile innovation,” said Stephanie Choi, EVP and Head of Mobile Marketing Center, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Since Sochi 2014, we’ve supported athletes with Olympic Editions, and we’re honored to continue this commitment at Milano Cortina 2026.”
The Olympic Edition builds on the Galaxy Z Flip7, which features Galaxy AI and an edge-to-edge FlexWindow, transforming it into a commemorative device. Its design includes a blue glass back inspired by Milano Cortina 2026 and Italian azure, complemented by gold metal framing that reflects athletic achievement. A clear case with a blue circular magnet and gold laurel accents completes the look, alongside pre-loaded Winter Games-themed wallpaper inspired by skate marks on ice.

On the functional side, the device is designed to support athletes with a dual 50MP/12MP camera system, AI-powered Photo Assist for image editing, and an on-device Interpreter that enables real-time translation without a network; an especially useful feature in mountainous venues. A tailored Dual Recording mode also gives athletes quick access to capture both the action and their own reactions at the same time.
Beyond the hardware itself, the device arrives with a curated set of apps and services designed specifically to support the Olympic and Paralympic Games, including:
- Galaxy Athlete Card: A digital experience for exchanging profiles and fostering community among athletes.
- Connectivity & Digital Access: Includes a complimentary 100GB 5G eSIM and Samsung Wallet integration for digital passes and partner services, such as the Coca-Cola Free Beverage Key for use in Village vending machines.
- Athlete365 Integration: Performance and mental health support, alongside key competition information, is integrated into Galaxy AI‘s Now Brief feature for at-a-glance updates.
- Fitness & Village Apps: A pre-installed fitness app syncs with Village gym equipment for personalized insights, while official Games apps, the IOC Hotline, and PinQuest aid daily convenience.
