New Mac Studio and MacBook Pro May Arrive Later Than Expected

Global memory shortages are beginning to impact Apple’s product plans, delaying two expected launches. Customers waiting for the next Mac Studio or MacBook Pro may need to be patient a little longer. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has reportedly pushed back at least two upcoming devices, including an updated Mac Studio and a refreshed MacBook Pro lineup that is rumored to add touchscreen support.

The next Mac Studio, expected to succeed the current M4 Max and M3 Ultra models, was originally projected to launch in the middle of this year. However, Bloomberg reports that Apple is already facing shortages of existing Mac Studio inventory, likely driven by strong demand from users running local AI models.

With no end to the memory shortage in sight, Gurman predicted that the refreshed Mac Studio’s release could be postponed to around October instead.

Apple’s laptop lineup is also being affected. Gurman reports that the next MacBook Pro could face delays as well. While he previously expected the touchscreen model to launch between late 2026 and early 2027, he now believes it will arrive closer to the end of that timeframe.

Apple is not the only company dealing with these challenges. The RAM shortage has impacted nearly every consumer tech brand, especially laptop manufacturers. Even so, Apple has one positive development: the recently launched MacBook Neo has reportedly performed well despite the wider memory supply crunch.
