AI is showing up in just about everything these days, and now, even gaming routers are getting in on it. Asus has introduced the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI, which it says is the first of its kind to bring artificial intelligence to gaming networks.
The router’s built on Wi-Fi 7, the newest and fastest version of the standard. It combines wider 320MHz channels with advanced 4096-QAM tech to hit speeds up to 19Gbps. You still get support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, but the big upgrade is the 6GHz band, which basically doubles what Wi-Fi 6 could handle. That means smoother gaming, quicker downloads, and no lag when you’re streaming in 4K or 8K.

The GT-BE19000AI also delivers strong wired performance, featuring two 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports, one configurable as a dedicated gaming channel, and four 2.5-Gigabit ports. Combined, they offer a total wired capacity of 31Gbps and include 20Gbps link aggregation support for high-speed internet setups.

Inside, the router hums with power, a 2.6GHz quad-core processor, 4GB of fast DDR4 memory, and 32GB of built-in storage. But its real edge lies in the companion AI chip, a 2.1GHz quad-core unit paired with a Neural Processing Unit that can handle nearly eight trillion calculations every second.
The Rapture GT-BE19000AI uses specialized silicon that supports a built-in Docker Engine, allowing it to run containerized applications directly on its own hardware. According to Asus, this design brings edge computing capabilities to the router, letting users host tools like home automation, AI video recognition, or ad-blocking systems without needing a separate server.
The company says the router can act as a central hub for smart and automated services, running tools like home assistants, Frigate for AI video recognition, or AdGuard for ad filtering and online protection, things most traditional routers simply can’t do.
The router also includes Asus’s well-known AI Game Boost feature, now updated with improved algorithms for real-time network tuning. It can automatically detect connected devices, adjust traffic priorities through adaptive QoE, and, according to Asus, cut gaming latency by as much as 34% in internal tests.
The combination of high-end performance and a bold design puts the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI squarely in the premium category. Asus lists the router at $899, targeting enthusiasts willing to pay for top-tier hardware.
