Circle to Search Lets You Translate Text on the Fly While Scrolling

Ever found yourself scrolling through social media or browsing your favorite artist’s Instagram, only to hit a language barrier? If you’re an Android user, you probably already know that Circle to Search is a genius tool for getting instant info about anything on your screen. But one of its most popular features, translation, is about to get a whole lot smarter.

Until now, you had to restart the translation process every single time you scrolled or the content changed. It worked, but it was a bit of a hassle, breaking your flow whenever you wanted to see more.

Google just fixed that. With its latest update, translation in Circle to Search is now completely continuous. The experience is now seamless: just long-press the home button or navigation bar to activate Circle to Search, tap the “Translate” icon, and then select “scroll and translate.” That’s it! Now you can scroll down a page, or even switch to another app, and the text will translate on the fly without any interruption.

This is a game-changer for getting context on social posts from international creators or effortlessly reading foreign menus while traveling.

Look for this update to begin rolling out this week, starting on select Samsung Galaxy devices before expanding to more Android phones.
