AMD is finally bringing the Radeon RX 9070 GRE to more markets after keeping it exclusive to China last year. The mid-range GPU, officially called the “Golden Rabbit Edition” (or unofficially “Great Radeon Edition” by some), launches globally for $549.

Designed as a lower-cost option for 1440p gaming, the RX 9070 GRE ships with 12GB of memory and support for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 4.1 (FSR 4.1) technology. The GPU is powered by RDNA 4, AMD’s latest graphics architecture, which delivers upgraded AI compute performance and next-generation ray tracing enhancements.

The RX 9070 GRE is essentially a refreshed take on the standard Radeon RX 9070, a GPU widely seen as one of AMD’s strongest mid-range releases in recent years. With that starting point, the GRE model is designed to offer modern gaming features and dependable performance without entering high-end price ranges.

The RX 9070 GRE arrives as the gaming GPU market is changing, especially as NVIDIA shifts more attention toward AI and data center business. With much of NVIDIA’s revenue now coming from those areas, AMD has an opportunity to attract PC gamers looking for hardware focused more on gaming performance than AI processing.

For its price, the RX 9070 GRE appears to offer solid value, giving gamers another option in a market where graphics cards aimed primarily at gaming are becoming harder to ignore.
