Samsung AI TVs May Soon Support Google Photos

Samsung AI TVs May Soon Support Google Photos

Samsung announced its intention to bring Google Photos to its AI-powered TVs through a new partnership with Google. The integration will let users display personal photos and videos on the big screen, making it easier to share memories at home.

Samsung isn’t treating Google Photos as a separate app sitting on the sidelines. Instead, it plans to weave those memories into the TV’s daily rhythm, letting familiar faces and moments quietly appear through features like Daily+ and Daily Board, from the start of the morning to the end of the day.

Samsung TVs have always brought people together, and bringing Google Photos to the big screen makes that experience even more personal,” said Kevin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Customer Experience Team at Samsung Electronics. “Through this partnership, we help users rediscover and relive cherished moments by bringing to light the stories behind their photos.”

Samsung says the integration will require minimal setup, with users signing in via their Google account to access their photo library on the TV. Leveraging Google Photos’ established indexing of people, places, and events, the platform turns the television into a browsable, large-format archive of personal media.

The rollout will take place in stages, with several new features being introduced over time.

  • Memories (Exclusive Launch: Early 2026): Samsung TVs will debut a new “Memories” experience that automatically creates curated stories, think “Trip to Paris” or “Family Holidays”, for the first time on television. This feature will be exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months.
  • Create with AI (Planned for Late 2026): Leveraging Google DeepMind’s Nano Banana model, users will gain access to playful AI tools. These include themed templates to remix photo styles and a “Photo to Video” feature that animates still images into short videos.
  • Personalized Results (Planned for Late 2026): Users can dive deeper into specific themes. Asking the TV’s AI companion to show “ocean” or “hiking” photos will generate a tailored slideshow of related memories.

With Google Photos in the mix, Samsung’s Vision AI Companion takes on a more personal role, quietly weaving photo moments into the rhythm of the day.

For Google, the move marks a notable step in expanding Google Photos beyond phones and computers and onto one of the world’s most widely used TV platforms. “Google Photos is where people store and organize their photos and videos,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president of Google Photos and Google One. “Bringing it to Samsung TVs allows people to enjoy those memories on a larger screen and experience them in new ways.”
