Sony has announced the IER-M500, a new set of professional in-ear monitors for stage performers and live sound engineers. They emphasize effective sound isolation, a stable fit, and comfort for extended listening sessions.
According to Sony, the IER-M500 features a fit system that helps keep the earphones securely in place during active performances. It comes with four sizes of noise-isolating eartips and dedicated ear fit supporters, which work together to provide a stable fit for musicians on stage.

Sony says the IER-M500 delivers strong noise isolation through a fully sealed design and a large internal acoustic chamber. This combination is intended to reduce ambient noise while maintaining consistent audio performance.
The IER-M500 is Sony‘s first premium in-ear monitor to debut in several years. It expands the company’s professional audio lineup, joining the MDR-M1 studio headphones introduced in 2024.
Sony has opened pre-orders for the IER-M500, priced at $120. The earphones are available in clear, black, and red-and-blue color options.
