Google announced Wednesday that YouTube is rolling out custom feeds, giving users more control over what appears on their homepage.
The feature lets viewers determine which videos show up on their YouTube front page based on a theme or description they provide. Users can click the “+ Custom Feed” button below the search bar and describe the feed they want to see. The algorithm will then display a personalized carousel on the homepage based on that prompt.

In a company blog post, YouTube said: “Viewers can craft and save multiple feeds finely tuned to their varying interests, whether it’s ‘evening wind down with long documentaries’ or ‘new DIY creators’.”
Custom feeds will be available for U.S. users on web, mobile, and TVs “soon,” YouTube said.
YouTube also announced Wednesday that it is adding an “Ask YouTube” feature to product review videos, letting viewers pose questions about what they’re watching as they shop.
According to YouTube, if users are searching for a specific product, they may receive recommendations that let them compare products and categories based on their preferences. After clicking on a video that interests them, viewers can ask more questions about the product on the video’s “watch” page.
