iPhone 18e Leak Hints at A20 Chip and 24MP Front Camera

Apple is still releasing its fall products, but early leaks are already pointing to its spring plans. A leaker on social media says the iPhone 18e, the next entry-level iPhone, may use the A20 chip, which has so far been limited to Pro models. 9to5Mac reported the claim.

The iPhone 17e runs on a 3nm A19 chip. Moving to a 2nm A20, even a scaled-down version below the Pro tier, could deliver a meaningful performance boost, the report says.

The leak also says the iPhone 18e will have a single 48MP rear camera, and the front camera may be raised to 24MP. Other specs are reported to stay the same as the iPhone 17e, such as the 6.12-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate.

The leak says nothing about pricing, which could matter given how expensive components remain. Apple has felt the pinch of “RAMaggedon” too, raising prices across much of its lineup in both June and September.

The iPhone 18e will likely be announced in the spring, along with the base iPhone 18 and a rumored second iPhone Air.
