Fairphone has launched the Fairphone Gen. 6+ in the United States. The phone combines mid-range hardware with a modular design that allows up to 12 components to be replaced using a single T5 Torx screwdriver. It includes a five-year warranty and is expected to receive software support until at least 2033.
Fairphone is selling the phone for $649.99, with blue, black, and green options available now. Delivery is expected to take two to six days, and customers have 14 days to try the device.
The Gen. 6+ is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. Fairphone says it is the first device in its lineup with 12GB of RAM. The phone also features a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
For cameras, the phone has a 50-megapixel main shooter with 10x digital zoom, along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera that covers 120 degrees. The front camera is 32 megapixels and also supports autofocus.
The Gen. 6+ has a 4,415mAh battery rated for up to 22 hours of music playback and 18 hours of video playback. Its fast-charging support can bring the battery to 50 percent in roughly 20 minutes.
The phone ships with Android 16 and is expected to receive at least six major Android updates. Fairphone has committed to providing software support through at least 2033.
Repairability remains one of the Gen. 6+’s main selling points. Using a T5 Torx screwdriver, owners can replace parts such as the battery, display, cameras, USB-C port, and earpiece. Fairphone sells replacement parts separately, including a battery for under $40 and a replacement screen for $89.95. The phone also has an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.
