Anthropic has expanded its Claude for Chrome extension with Claude Cowork, giving users access to the assistant directly from a side panel in the browser.
The update also connects Chrome conversations with users’ existing Claude history. Their saved skills and connectors are available automatically, while tasks started in the Claude app can be picked up in Chrome and continued back in the app without losing the conversation.
The feature is now available to Max and Team subscribers, while Pro subscribers will receive access in the coming weeks.
It is designed for users who rely heavily on Chrome for their daily tasks. Anthropic has official integrations with many services, but the Chrome sidebar can also let Claude work with tools that do not offer direct integration.
Claude Code is already available in the Chrome extension for users who need Anthropic’s AI models for coding and programming. Claude Cowork was introduced as a simpler option for everyday tasks, and it recently gained support for smartphone controls.
Anthropic opened Claude for Chrome to all users in late 2025.
