Ahead of the theatrical release of The Mandalorian and Grogu this Friday, Fortnite is giving players an early look at the film with a special in-game event on Tuesday, May 19.
The Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island opens at 10 a.m. ET on May 19. After completing a series of activities on the island, players will unlock a 10-minute preview of the movie and hear a message from director Jon Favreau.
The experience, built in collaboration with Fairview Portals and Beyond Creative, tasks players with stepping into the role of a Deputy. According to the Fortnite team, participants will “collect bounties, defend the city from waves of enemies, and find Grogu.” After spending 20 minutes exploring the planet Nevarro, players will receive an exclusive Mandalorian Sanctuary loading screen.
The Mandalorian and Grogu continue the story from the Disney+ series, with Pedro Pascal returning as Din Djarin. The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as the new character, Colonel Ward, and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta, the son of Jabba the Hutt. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, May 22.
