Recall Gets a Personalized Homepage Makeover
The biggest change? Recall now has a brand new homepage that puts your productivity front and center. Think of it as your personal command center for getting back to what matters most.
Once you’ve opted into snapshot collection, this homepage becomes your go-to spot for:
Recent Snapshots – Your latest captured moments are right there waiting for you. No more hunting around to figure out where you left off on that important project.
Top Apps and Websites – See your three most-used applications and websites from the past 24 hours at a glance. It’s like having a personal usage report that actually helps you stay focused.
Pro tip: You can still control what gets saved by setting up filters in your Recall settings. Your privacy, your rules.
Navigation Just Got Smoother
Microsoft has also redesigned how you move around in Recall. There’s now a sleek navigation bar on the left side of your screen that gives you quick access to everything you need – Home, Timeline, Feedback, and Settings. It’s cleaner, more intuitive, and doesn’t change how Recall actually works under the hood.
Finally! Movable Hardware Indicators
Here’s something users have been asking for forever – you can now move those hardware pop-ups (brightness, volume, airplane mode, virtual desktops) to different spots on your screen.
You’re not stuck with the bottom position anymore. Want them at the top left or top center? No problem. Just head to Settings > System > Notifications and use the “Position of on-screen indicators” dropdown to make your choice.
Beta Channel Updates (Rolling Out Gradually)
Microsoft is also pushing out several behind-the-scenes improvements for Beta Channel users:
Start Menu Changes – Admins now have more control over Start menu pins. They can set them up initially, but users can customize them afterward without losing their changes.
File Explorer AI Actions – Those AI-powered File Explorer features that briefly disappeared? They’re making a comeback as Microsoft restarts the rollout.
Settings Update – You’ll now see your selected country or region displayed under Settings > Time & Language> Language & Region. It’s a small touch, but helpful for keeping track of your locale settings.
