Tired of complicated Photo Editors? Now you can tell Google Photos what to do. Google is now rolling out conversational editing in Google Photos to all eligible Android users across the U.S. The way is quite easy, just by opening a photo in the Google Photos editor, tapping the new “Help me edit” text, and then describing the change you want to make. You can use your voice or type it in.
This illustration shows what you can do with Google Photos to edit your photos so easily.
If you are confused about how you want to edit your photo, staring at a photo and knowing it could be better, but not knowing how to fix it, of course, we’ve all been there. The feature has you covered with helpful suggestions. If you’re feeling uninspired, a simple “make it better” can work wonders.
You can also get wildly creative using commands. An example like “Transporting an alpaca from a petting zoo to a beach in Waikiki, complete with a tropical drink” will produce a photo that is more or less like the video above. You want a warmer tone? More pop? A brighter sky? You can just say the word, and Google Photos does the heavy lifting for you.
Currently, more and more AI technology is being used for photo editing, and Google Photos is just one of them. Unfortunately, for now, only those of you in the United States can use this feature. Of course, those of you in other countries will eventually get this feature from Google.
Here is another example of using the AI Photo Editor in Google Photos. We can easily remove glare in the photo simply by entering a few commands, as shown in this video.
In the following example, you can restore your old photos that may be very unclear. With AI technology like today, restoring this kind of photo will be easier than using manual methods like Photoshop, which may now be starting to be abandoned.
Although the development of AI like this feels commendable, it becomes a dilemma when we encounter many personal photos of people that are edited in an irresponsible manner, which, of course, violates their privacy. So what do you think? Are you happy with the advancement of AI technology as it is today? Or do you also feel a bit of concern? Please share your opinion in the comments section.
