Microsoft is introducing new features called “Image Objects Select” in Windows 11, designed to integrate more seamlessly with your on-screen content, helping you accomplish tasks more intuitively.
Extract and Use Image Objects Select with Ease
A new “Image Object Select” tool is now available to accelerate your creative workflow. This feature allows for the precise selection of individual elements within any image directly from your screen.

Simply hover your cursor over a picture to see a preview of the selectable objects. With a single click, you can isolate an object, then copy and paste it directly into other applications, such as presentation slides or design software. Alternatively, you can use the extracted image to initiate a chat with Copilot, enabling you to seek deeper insights or brainstorm creative ideas based on the visual element.
Instant Unit Conversion
Microsoft is also enhancing on-the-fly productivity with built-in unit conversion. This capability is designed for moments when you encounter a measurement on a webpage or in a document and need a quick conversion.

When you hover over a number combined with a unit (for example, “2km” or “5ft”), a tooltip will instantly display the converted value. For more detailed options, selecting the text will open a context menu with a broader range of conversion choices. The feature currently supports core measurement types, including length, area, volume, weight, temperature, and speed.
For even more comprehensive conversion capabilities, you can access the Copilot app. Please note: this specific integration within Copilot is not currently available for Windows Insiders in the European Economic Area (EEA) or China.
Expanded Security with Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in
Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS) is now expanding its reach. Previously, this highest level of Windows Hello security was exclusive to devices with integrated biometric sensors.
Microsoft is pleased to announce that ESS now supports compatible peripheral fingerprint readers. This means users of a wider range of Windows 11 PCs, including desktops and Copilot+ PCs, can now enroll to benefit from this robust, phishing-resistant sign-in method.

To set it up, simply connect a supported external fingerprint reader, navigate to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options, and follow the enrollment instructions.
