Anthropic has officially filed for an initial public offering, sending its Form S-1 to the Securities and Exchange Commission and confirming that its stock would be listed on Nasdaq under “ANT,” the company said in a post on its website. The move follows Anthropic’s draft S-1 filing with the SEC in June.
Anthropic hasn’t set its share count or pricing, saying both “have not yet been determined.” Even so, the IPO could put the company’s valuation near $2 trillion when shares debut in mid-November.
Anthropic said in its filing that it had raised $141.1 billion in total as of June 30, 2026. At that date, it held $112.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents and $19.3 billion in short-term investments. Revenue for the three months ending June 30 grew 1,368 percent year over year, compared with 300 percent growth in compute and infrastructure expenses. The draft filing from June reported an operating loss of $8 billion last year.
Anthropic is a leading AI company and has advocated slowing the AI race. CEO Dario Amodei published a three-step plan to curb the pace of development. The IPO filing lists four risks: misuse, loss of control, authoritarian abuse, and economic disruption.
Anthropic said it expects a highly capable frontier model to “become widely available within a few years.” The company described it as able to exceed the cognitive abilities of top human experts, navigate every interface a person working virtually would use, and interact with the physical world through lab equipment and robotic systems.
The company closed its investor pitch with a big promise. Its goal, it says, is “to help humankind chart a safe course through this technological evolution, open new frontiers of discovery, and bring forth an age of miracles.”
