A short video released by Google has given the public its first glimpse of the Pixel 11 Pro. The clip also suggests there could be a new addition to the device’s signature camera bar. More details are expected when the company announces the lineup on August 12.
The short teaser showcases the phone’s triple-camera system, though a circular indicator beside the lenses is what catches the eye. Its rotating, multicolored animation has led some viewers to compare it to the rainbow loading icon on Macs. Google has not shared any details about its function.
In the teaser, a voiceover notes that people use their phones to access services such as Gmail, Maps, Search, Calendar, and Gemini, but the title, “the next obvious move,” provides little context. One theory is that the animated ring serves as a progress indicator for on-device Gemini processing. Others believe it could function like the Glyph lighting system on Nothing phones, using different colors for notifications. Another idea is that it relates to Google’s growing interest in mixed reality. Google has not confirmed any of these possibilities.
In addition to the teaser, several rumored specifications for the Pixel 11 series have appeared online in recent weeks. The leaks suggest the Pro model will include a 6.3-inch display with a peak brightness of 3,600 nits and Google’s Tensor G6 chipset. A separate retail listing also pointed to three available finishes: pink-beige, forest green, and gray-lavender.
It’s still unclear what Google has planned for the cameras. Many people also expect the Pixel 11 phones and Pixel Watch 5 to be more expensive, largely because AI features require more powerful hardware like extra RAM, bigger storage, and newer chips. We should get the full picture when Google holds its event on August 12.
