Spotify Hit by Another Widespread Outage After Earlier Service Disruption

Spotify Outage

Spotify experienced two outages on Monday, July 27. The second incident lasted longer and affected core features, with many users unable to stream music, log in, search their libraries, or access account settings for several hours.

The disruption started early in the morning. Spotify’s official Status account on X acknowledged the issue and reported it resolved about an hour after users first flagged it. The service, however, soon ran into problems again.

Shortly after 3 p.m. ET, the Spotify Status account posted, “We’re aware of some issues right now with our web page and are checking them out!” Users were directed to the company’s support and community pages for updates. Over the next three hours, many reported that the web player and mobile apps were either unreliable or unavailable.

Spotify confirmed the outage had ended at 6 p.m. ET, writing, “All clear now – thanks for your patience with this!” User reports on Downdetector were already trending downward by then, indicating that the platform was recovering. Even so, from what’s seen in the comment section, there are still a lot of users complaining about issues with their Spotify accounts.

The second disruption occurred only hours after Spotify reported that the first issue had been resolved, making it the more serious of the two incidents.
