Facebook Launches Seller App for Marketplace With Business Tools

Seller App by Meta (Facebook)

Facebook Marketplace is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year after growing from a basic buying-and-selling feature in Facebook Groups into one of the world’s largest online marketplaces. Around 430 million items are listed on the platform every month, and many users now rely on it to earn extra income or run small businesses. To better serve those sellers, Meta has introduced Seller, a standalone mobile app created to help Marketplace sellers manage their listings more efficiently.

The Seller app is now available on the App Store for U.S. users aged 18 and older. Meta is also testing an Android version, while sellers who download the iOS app can access a companion web interface.

Seller is fully integrated with Facebook Marketplace, allowing existing listings, conversations, and sales records to sync automatically. New listings created in the app are published directly to Marketplace, where buyers continue to shop. While users can still sell through the Facebook app, Meta says Seller offers a dedicated workspace for managing and expanding a selling business.

Seller consolidates several management tasks into a single interface:

Seller Home: A dashboard that highlights items requiring immediate attention, orders to ship, buyer messages awaiting a reply, or listings that could benefit from a price adjustment alongside an at-a-glance snapshot of sales performance.

Listing Creation with Meta AI: When a seller uploads photos, Meta AI can automatically generate a title, description, price suggestion, and category to speed up publishing. A bulk listing feature also lets sellers create multiple listings at once.

Listing Management: The app provides a single place to view, edit, relist, and manage a seller’s full catalog.

Unified Inbox: All buyer messages are organized in one threaded view, grouped by individual item, so sellers can track every conversation tied to a specific listing.

Performance Insights: Data on views, clicks, message threads, and sold items helps sellers price competitively and make more informed decisions about their inventory.

Meta says the launch is only the beginning. The company plans to continue refining the app based on feedback from its seller community.
