Satya Nadella, Jensen Huang, and Pavan Davuluri are set to appear at a San Francisco gathering centered on local AI and the next chapter of the PC.
Microsoft is set to host an event in San Francisco on October 7 focused on “how local AI will shape the next chapter of the PC.” The gathering comes just months after NVIDIA announced its first system-on-a-chip for Windows, the NVIDIA RTX Spark, and it may serve as the clearest opportunity yet to share more about the Surface Laptop Ultra that the platform will power.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, and Microsoft Executive Vice President of Windows + Devices Pavan Davuluri will be in attendance. According to The Verge, the trio is expected to share the “latest innovations across Windows, NVIDIA RTX Spark, Surface and the broader PC ecosystem.”
The event’s local-AI theme aligns with a shared vision between Microsoft and NVIDIA: allowing AI agents to handle an increasing amount of normal computer work. Microsoft has already publicly shown off new hardware that could be part of that future in the form of its Project Solara devices. But computers powerful enough to run AI models locally are also expected to play a major role. The Surface Laptop Ultra, using NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform, appears designed for that exact kind of workflow.
Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Ultra in June 2026 but did not share details about its availability at the time. Other laptop manufacturers like Lenovo have also introduced their own RTX Spark devices, but pricing for those systems remains unknown.
That leaves Microsoft’s October event as a possible venue to finalize those plans. For now, the company is keeping the focus on local AI and what it will mean for the next generation of PCs.
