Google Expands 'Nano Banana' Integration Across Search, NotebookLM, and Photos

Building on the successful introduction of Google’s latest image editing model, Nano Banana, within the Gemini ecosystem this August 2025, Nano Banana has been inspired by the unique and creative ways Gemini users have engaged with it. To date, over five billion images have been generated in the Gemini app, showing the model’s significant potential.

Google is now pleased to announce the expansion of Nano Banana’s advanced capabilities into Google Search and NotebookLM, with an upcoming integration for Google Photos. Google is introducing these tools right where people are already exploring, learning, and creating with visuals, so they’re easy to find and start using.

Within Google Search, the integration will work through Google Lens. Users can simply capture a photo with Lens, or select an existing image from their gallery, and instantly reimagine it with the help of AI. To begin, open Lens in the Google app on Android or iOS and select the new Create mode.

For NotebookLM users, Nano Banana now enhances the Video Overview feature, making it even more dynamic and useful. The model introduces six new visual styles to these overviews, including watercolor and anime, and generates contextual illustrations directly informed by your source material. It also powers a new, condensed format called “Brief,” designed for situations requiring only quick, high-level insights.

We ourselves have tried Google Nano Banana, and this tool can be said to be very powerful for photo editing, especially given its speed and accuracy in executing the instructions we provide. What do you think? Do you feel the same way, or have you never tried Nano Banana?
