According to a Financial Times report, OpenAI is working on a significant redesign of ChatGPT. The update is expected to roll out in the coming weeks and would expand the platform with tools for coding, image generation, and access to third-party applications, including Canva and Booking.com.
The Financial Times said the changes are expected to debut on ChatGPT’s website and mobile apps. Although the platform has gained millions of free users, OpenAI is increasingly focused on attracting enterprise clients. The redesigned experience aims to bring multiple workflows together in one place, making it easier for organizations to use across their teams.

The shift could create a valuable new revenue opportunity for OpenAI. The company is reportedly considering an IPO as early as September, and a larger enterprise presence could help strengthen its business ahead of a public offering. The development also comes amid reports that Anthropic is pursuing similar plans, increasing competition across the AI sector.
The Financial Times report is consistent with OpenAI’s previously reported plans to build a more comprehensive platform. Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal and CNBC reported that the company was developing an application that would combine ChatGPT, its browser, and the Codex desktop app. OpenAI has also introduced an app directory that connects ChatGPT with services such as Spotify and Dropbox, supporting a broader ecosystem around the product.
OpenAI has yet to comment publicly on the reported rollout schedule. If the redesign launches as described, it would mark a major evolution for ChatGPT, shifting the product from a primarily conversational tool to a more comprehensive workspace.
