Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro earbuds arrive with Anker’s new Thus AI chip

Anker Liberty 5 Pro & Anker Liberty 5 Pro Max

Anker officially launched its latest flagship earbuds during its Anker Day event, unveiling the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max. The new models are the first devices to feature the company’s previously teased Thus AI chip, a dedicated component designed to improve voice performance in challenging environments.

Both versions combine the Thus chip with eight microphones and two bone conduction sensors. Anker says the setup powers its Whisper Clear voice system, which uses AI to separate speech from background noise and improve call clarity in noisy settings. According to the company, the sensors can also capture quieter voices in moderately quiet environments. The chip further supports voice commands, with 20 control options and a claimed response time below one second.

Both the Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max feature Soundcore’s Adaptive ANC 4.0. Using eight microphones, the system analyzes audio up to 384,000 times per second while monitoring outside noise and sounds entering the ear canal to adjust noise cancellation in real time. Anker says the algorithm is designed to handle different types of noise, including voices, and claims it performs up to twice as effectively as the Liberty 4 Pro.

Both earbuds also include HearID 5.0, a feature that creates a personalized EQ profile through a short hearing test. Anker says its AI Sound Enhancement technology can restore up to 65 percent of the audio quality typically reduced by Bluetooth compression.

Both models offer up to 6.5 hours of battery life with ANC enabled, extending to 28 hours when combined with the charging case. Features include multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, Bluetooth 6.1 support, compatibility with Apple Find My and Google Fast Pair, and an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.

The main thing separating the two models is the charging case. The Liberty 5 Pro features a 0.96-inch TFT touchscreen, while the Liberty 5 Pro Max upgrades to a larger 1.78-inch AMOLED display. The Pro Max also includes an AI Note-Taker that creates meeting transcripts in the Soundcore app, identifying speakers and action items. This feature is exclusive to the Pro Max. Both models support AI translation, though the Liberty 5 Pro offers it through the earbuds only, while the Pro Max adds translation support on the case display as well.

The Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max are available starting today, priced at $170 and $230, respectively. Buyers can choose the Liberty 5 Pro in black, blue, pink, or white, while the Pro Max is offered in black and gold.
