Roblox to Launch AI-Generated Game Creation

Roblox is making game creation much easier with a new AI feature called Build. Instead of learning complicated tools, users can simply describe what they want in everyday language, and the system will help create it. Better yet, these creation tools are finally coming to phones and tablets, so you won’t need a desktop to start building.

Build is powered by both open-source and proprietary AI models that convert text prompts into interactive environments. According to Roblox, the feature is designed to make creating games on the platform more approachable for a wider range of users.

Roblox will begin testing Build with a public alpha launch in New Zealand on July 28 before expanding it to more regions over the coming months. The creation tools will be available to users aged 9 and older, while experiences that clear Roblox’s safety review can be published for players aged 16 and above worldwide.

Build launches as Roblox continues to address concerns over age verification on its platform. While the company introduced restricted account tiers last month to strengthen protections for younger users, its earlier age assurance efforts drew criticism. Whether Build becomes a successful AI-powered creation tool or another controversial feature remains to be seen.
